Sub-Saharan AfricaEastern Africa JSPS Alumni Association
Eastern Africa Alumni Association is a diverse network of over 70 members from nine countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, mainly in East Africa. The Association promotes academic exchange and collaborative research between African and Japanese researchers, Universities and institutions.
An annual workshop, hosted in a different country each year, provides opportunities for alumni to share their experiences in Japan and their ongoing research activities, while also introducing JSPS programs to young African researchers. Recent workshops were held in Nairobi, Kenya (2024) and Lusaka, Zambia (2025).
