Frontiers of Science Symposium

Outline

JSPS supports Frontiers of Science (FoS) symposiums that provide a platform for talented young researchers (up to 45 years of age) to engage in cross-disciplinary discussions on leading edge scientific topics. The symposiums aim to contribute to the development of new academic disciplines and the fostering of future generations of leaders. The participants lodge together over the 3-day period and attend all of the sessions.
The format and implementation policy of these symposiums are determined by the JSPS FoS Symposium Advisory Board.
FoS symposiums has been carried out in cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences in the US (JAFoS), the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany (JGFoS), Royal Society in the UK (UK-Japan FoS), The Royal Society of Canada and Canadian Institute for Advanced Research in Canada (JCFoS), French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and ResearchFrench Ministry of Foreign and International Development, and Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in France (JFFoS).
