JSPS has 11 liaison offices in 10 countries.

Function of JSPS Overseas Offices

Liaise with overseas counterpart research-promotion organizations
Hold symposiums
Support alumni networks formed among former participants in JSPS programmes
Disseminate information on scientific trends in Japan and gather similar information from the host countries

Each JSPS Overseas Offices consists of a Director, Deputy Director, International Programme Associate* and local staff.

＊International Programme Associate
JSPS offers 2-year internship to staff from universities and research institutions as International Programme Associate for acquiring experiences in carrying out international programmes.

・1 year at JSPS overseas offices
