The JSPS Alumni Association of Argentina was established in March 2024 by former fellows of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and was officially recognized by JSPS in June 2026 as the 22nd official JSPS Alumni Association, becoming the first JSPS Alumni Association in Latin America. The Association seeks to strengthen the network of former JSPS fellows in Argentina and to promote scientific, academic and cultural exchange between Argentina and Japan. The Association disseminates information on JSPS funding and collaboration opportunities, organizes scientific and networking events, publishes a periodic newsletter, and serves as a liaison between JSPS, former fellows, the Embassy of Japan in Argentina, and the local scientific community, thereby fostering long-term research cooperation between Argentina and Japan.
