The idea of JSPS Alumni Association in Malaysia was started when KUFS-USM Japan Science Center in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and the JSPS Bangkok Office organized seminars to introduce JSPS international programs and meetings to establish an alumni association.
An interim Committee and Secretariat was commissioned in March 2019 when the first general assembly of the JSPS Malaysia Alumni Association was held at the USM to approve to establish JSPS Alumni Association Malaysia (JAAM). JSPS Alumni Association Malaysia (JAAM) was officially established in September 2019 as the 20th official JSPS Alumni Association.
Now, the association brings together more than 68 alumni members with researchers from all over the country.
