The Italian JSPS Alumni Association was established in 2024 in Milan and approved in January 2025 as the 21st official JSPS Alumni Association. Its main purposes are: to coordinate relations and promote intellectual and scientific exchange among those who have received JSPS research scholarships; to publicize JSPS scholarship opportunities in Italy and for Italian researchers; to facilitate the integration of Italian researchers and Italian-speaking researchers into the Japanese research environment; to promote scientific events, with particular reference to cooperation between Italy and Japan; to promote actions and activities aimed at fostering cultural exchange between Italy and Japan, both in Italy and Europe.
