Looking ahead to the future of academia and aiming to contribute to the exploration of new academic fields while nurturing the next generation of leaders by offering opportunities for interdisciplinary discussions among young researchers from Japan and Canada, we launched the first Japanese-Canadian Frontiers of Science (JCFoS) Symposium in cooperation with the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) (external site) and the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) (external site) in November 2017, followed by the second event in March 2023.
