A Guide to Data Sharing in the Humanities and Social Sciences

A Guide to Data Sharing in the Humanities and Social Sciences

"A Guide to Data Sharing in the Humanities and Social Sciences” is a product of the “Program for Constructing Data Infrastructure for the Humanities and Social Sciences”, established by JSPS in 2018. The purpose of the Guide is to help advance research in fields of the humanities and social sciences. It does this by promoting data sharing and use and by facilitating the archiving of data, while guided by the trajectory of the data infrastructure being constructed under the Program.

The Guide helps young researchers and graduate students in fields of the humanities and social sciences to effectively manage data while sharpening their perception of the importance of data sharing, utilization, and archiving. Expanding these data functions is expected to advance to the next level research, both in Japan and internationally, across fields of the humanities and social sciences.
