R071 Committee on Functional Fusion of Advanced Thin Films and Interfaces
The purpose of this committee is to integrate each advanced function and new concept brought by thin-film interfaces in various fields as the next stage across fields and raise them to the level where they can be implemented in actual devices, aiming to realize ultra-sensitive, ultra-functional, and ultra-low power-consumption devices.
In order to achieve the above objectives, the following activities are primarily undertaken.
1) Study Groups (5 times a year)
Each of the five working groups, “Energy,” “Environment, Life, and Biotechnology,” “Information and Communication,” “Thin Film Formation and Process Technology,” and “Function and Property Evaluation,” identifies issues that are currently important and attracting attention, and organizes study groups on them.
2) Forum (once a year)
In order to support the industry in the future and promote sustainable development, we plan a forum for discussion from a broad perspective and across generations, covering medium- to long-term perspectives, potential market and technology research, economic trends in the industry surrounding our country, and very recent topics.
3) Retreat Study Session (once a year)
It is essential to understand the basic engineering content of thin film engineering and interface science. We plan opportunities for individual members from academia to effectively teach the corporate members participating in this committee about basic formation techniques, material properties, evaluation techniques, etc. related to thin film engineering and interface science, from the fundamentals to applications.
