On August 5, 2025, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (President: SUGINO Tsuyoshi) convened a meeting of the International Prize for Biology Committee (chaired by Dr. FUJIYOSHI Yoshinori, Distinguished University Professor, Institute of Science Tokyo) and decided to award the 41st International Prize for Biology to Dr. Giacomo Rizzolatti, 88, Italy. Dr. Rizzolatti is an Emeritus Professor, Full Professor of Human Physiology – University of Parma, Italy. The field of this year’s prize is Neurobiology.
