13th Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council Held in Saudi Arabia

The 13th Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council (GRC) was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on May 20–21, 2025.
The Global Research Council (GRC) is a virtual organization dedicated to fostering international collaboration and communication in research and science policy. Since the GRC’s founding, JSPS has been actively engaged in many of its initiatives, including the service of JSPS Presidents on the Governing Board.
The GRC Annual Meeting is a forum that brings together the heads of research funding agencies from around the world. At the 13th Meeting, discussions were held on two key topics: Research Management in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Co-Creation for Addressing Global Challenges. On the final day, the GRC Statements of Principles, reflecting the outcomes of these discussions, were endorsed. The GRC participating organizations aim to enhance their respective research funding programs and systems in accordance with this Statements.
