Award Ceremony for the 21st JSPS Prize and Japan Academy Medal Held in Tokyo

On February 4, 2025, the Award Ceremony for the 21st JSPS Prize and the Japan Academy Medal was held at the Japan Academy, with the honor of being attended by Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince and Crown Princess Akishino. The ceremony was a resounding success, with Mr. NONAKA Atsushi, State Minister of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), representing Dr. ABE Toshiko, MEXT Minister, and with distinguished guests from various fields in attendance.

The JSPS Prize aims to raise the level of scientific research in Japan to the world's highest standards by recognizing young researchers with rich creativity and outstanding research abilities at the early stages of their careers, thereby stimulating their research motivation and providing support for the advancement of their research work. This year, the Prize was awarded to 25 young researchers who are expected to be the future leaders of scientific research in Japan.
