The 12th Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council (GRC) was held in Interlaken, Switzerland, on May 29 - 30, 2024.

The Global Research Council (GRC) is an organization established to promote international cooperation and communication on research and science policy. The GRC Annual Meetings provide a forum for the heads of research councils from around the world. JSPS Presidents have been elected to the GRC Governing Board since its inception and have consistently demonstrated leadership within the GRC.
At the 12th Annual Meeting, the topic of Sustainable Research was discussed and a GRC Statement of Principles was adopted. The GRC participants are committed to enhancing their respective research funding policies and programs in accordance with the Statement.
