Response to disasters and emergencies

This page provides information for research institutions, researchers, and JSPS program participants regarding JSPS’s response to disasters and other emergencies. Please note that, depending on the circumstances, it may not be possible to implement these measures exactly as described during an actual disaster .

Information provision during disasters and emergencies

JSPS will generally provide disaster-related announcements through this website. However, if the site becomes inaccessible or cannot be updated, updates may be shared through our official X account (external site) instead.

Safety confirmation during disasters and emergencies

For fellows of JSPS programs—including the Research Fellowship for Young Researchers, the Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan, foreign researchers invited under JSPS programs, and other program participants deemed by JSPS to require safety confirmation—we may contact you to confirm your safety.

Response to inquiries during disasters and emergencies

During disasters and emergencies, telephone lines may become difficult to connect due to network congestion, and unstable conditions may delay or prevent email delivery. Information about JSPS’s response to the disaster will be provided through this website and other channels. We kindly ask that you refrain from making non‑urgent inquiries during such times.
