194th Advanced Molecular Transformations by Molecular Catalysts

There is an urgent need in today's society for a chemical element-based strategy to advance the use of scarce and depleted resources and for building sustainable recycling-based communities. To meet this demand, Japan is expected to develop catalytic systems based on its leading-edge organcatalysts and to pioneer innovative technologies by realizing advanced molecular transformations via "molecular catalysts" related to metal-complex and hybrid catalysts. To accomplish this, it will be necessary to institute university-industry collaboration through which to advance vigorous research and development initiatives. This committee is established to resolutely advance R&D on "molecular catalysts," thereby creating a new vision of Japan as a uniquely technological and highly innovative manufacturer.
