• Researchers should submit a report on the results using the designated form upon completionof the research or at the end of each fiscal year (if the carryover of the research grant isapproved).• When the research period is completed, researchers should submit a Report on the ResearchAchievements.the Report on the State ofResearch Implementation, and the Report on the Research Achievements arepublished using the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Database (KAKEN).Self-assessment or third-party assessment can be used as a basis for readjustment ofthe research conducted or for leading to development into new research.Reporting and publicizing the research results and achievements are important forpromoting the use of the research achievements in society and for deepening publicunderstanding on the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research program. Self-assessment is conducted for all research projects after the end of eachfiscal year (when preparing the Report on the Results, etc.). In the case of the Specially Promoted Research and the Scientific Research(S), an interim assessment by documentation or interview will be conductedaround the middle of the research period. An ex-post assessment in writing willbe conducted in the fiscal year following the end of the research period. For Transformative Research Areas (A), an interim assessment by means ofdocument review, interview (in ex-post assessment, if necessary) and panelreview is carried out in the fourth fiscal year of the set period for the researcharea, and an ex-post assessment in the fiscal year following the end of the setperiod for the research area. For International Leading Research, an interim assessment will be carried outin the fifth fiscal year of the research period, and an ex-post assessment in thefiscal year following the end of the research period. The results of the self-assessment, the research progress assessment, theinterim assessment, and the ex-post assessment above will be made publicthrough the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Database (KAKEN) of theNational Institute of Informatics. Since the KAKENHI is funded by such as taxes which are collected from people,researchers are required to explain the acquired results and achievements to thesociety and people as clearly as possible. Submitting a Report on the Results is mandatory.  Submitting a Report on the Research Achievements is also mandatory. The submitted Report on the Research Results,The research using the KAKENHI funding should be carried out based on the self-awarenessand responsibility of each researcher. Therefore, the publication on the implementation of theresearch or research achievements, etc. should not come from the government request, and theviews and responsibilities on the research achievements should be attributed to the researchersthemselves.16【When conducting research with KAKENHI】14.
