【When conducting research with KAKENHI】Self-assessmentisconductedforallresearchprojectsaftertheendofeachInthecaseoftheSpeciallyPromotedResearchandtheScientificResearch(S),aninterimassessmentbydocumentationorinterviewwillbeconductedaroundthemiddleoftheresearchperiod.Anex-postassessmentinwritingwillbeconductedinthefiscalyearfollowingtheendoftheresearchperiod.ForTransformativeResearchAreas(A),aninterimassessmentbymeansofdocuments,interviews,etc.iscarriedoutinthefourthfiscalyearofthesetperiodfortheresearcharea,andanex-postassessmentinthefiscalyearfollowingtheendofthesetperiodfortheresearcharea.ForInternationalLeadingResearch,aninterimassessmentwillbecarriedoutinthefifthfiscalyearoftheresearchperiod,andanex-postassessmentinthefiscalyearfollowingtheendoftheresearchperiod.Theresultsoftheself-assessment,theresearchprogressassessment,theinterimassessment,andtheex-postassessmentabovewillbemadepublicthroughtheGrants-in-AidforScientificResearchDatabase(KAKEN)oftheNationalInstituteofInformatics.SincetheKAKENHIisfundedbysuchastaxeswhicharecollectedfrompeople,researchersarerequiredtoexplaintheacquiredresultsandachievementstothesocietyandpeopleasclearlyaspossible.Submitting a Report on the Results is mandatory. SubmittingaReportontheResearchAchievementsisalsomandatory.ThesubmittedReportontheResearchResults,TheresearchusingtheKAKENHIfundingshouldbecarriedoutbasedontheself-awarenessandresponsibilityofeachresearcher.Therefore,thepublicationontheimplementationoftheresearchorresearchachievements,etc.shouldnotcomefromthegovernmentrequest,andtheviewsandresponsibilitiesontheresearchachievementsshouldbeattributedtotheresearchersthemselves.Self-assessmentorthird-partyassessmentcanbeusedasabasisforreadjustmentoftheresearchconductedorforleadingtodevelopmentintonewresearch.•Researchersshouldsubmitareportontheresultsusingthedesignatedformuponcompletionoftheresearchorattheendofeachfiscalyear(ifthecarryoveroftheresearchgrantisapproved).•Whentheresearchperiodiscompleted,researchersshouldsubmitaReportontheResearchAchievements.fiscalyear(whenpreparingtheReportontheResults,etc.).16theReportontheStateofResearchImplementation,andtheReportontheResearchAchievementsarepublishedusingtheGrants-in-AidforScientificResearchDatabase(KAKEN).14.
