(1) | Japanese universities, inter-university research institute corporations, junior colleges and colleges of technology | |
(2) | Independent administrative institutions and other institutions which conduct scientific research or R&D activities | |
(3) | Research institutions in private sector | |
* (2) and (3) are required eligibility to apply for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) |
・ | In principle, young associate professors, assistant professors and lecturers (or equivalents) affiliate with eligible Japanese universities and research institutes are entitled to participate in this program. Postdoctoral researchers or equivalents may also participate if necessitated by the research plan. | |
・ | Period of overseas stay: In principle, one year or longer. As a rule, each visit must be at least 3 months. |
・ | In principle, associate professors, assistant professors and lecturers (or equivalents) affiliate with counterpart overseas research institutions are eligible to participate in this program. Postdoctoral researchers and professor (or equivalents) may also participate if necessitated by the research plan. | |
・ | No limitation is placed on the length of their stays at the Japanese host institution. |

Up to ¥40 million/year/project (*however, the first year ¥25 million/year/project) |
