Aims and Goals

The aim of this committee is to promote the progress and development of ironmaking technology by promoting cooperation between industry and academia in such activities as the exploration, research, discussion, implementation, and presentation of the results of solutions to scientific and technological problems related to the ironmaking sector of the iron and steel making industry.


Research Themes

1. Infrastructural research and approaches for working out the steelmaking processes of the next generation (planning theme)
2. Research and development oriented to solving global environmental problems and natural resource problems (planning theme)
3. Studies on low-carbon and carbon-free steelmaking (study group)
(1) Studies on low-carbon based iron and steel systems
(2) Studies on saving energy, recovery, and conversion
(3) Studies on improvement of resource flexibility and processes oriented to more effective resource utilization
