The main activities of FY2008

  • The plan of establishing JSPS Korea Alumni was firstly announced on the website of the Embassy of Japan in Korea. (May 6, 2008)

  • The preparatory meeting of JSPS Korea Alumni was held by Mr. HARADA Yoshitsugu, Vice-Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan at the Residence of Japanese Ambassador to Korea in Seoul. (May 6, 2008)
  • The first "Japan-Korea Researcher Network Meeting" (JSPS Korea Alumni) was held at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul. JSPS Korea Alumni was successfully established. (July 19, 2008)

  • A board member of "Japan-Korea Researcher Network Meeting" (JSPS Korea Alumni) gave a congratulatory message to the Novel Prize award to Dr. KOBAYASHI Makoto, Executive Director of JSPS on the magazine "Japan News" (issued Nov 2008).

  • The second "Japan-Korea Researcher Network Meeting" (JSPS Korea Alumni) was held at KAIST, Daejon on Jan 17, 2009.

About 100 alumni members and other young students who have interests in the research in Japan gathered together. Prof. ONO Motoyuki, President of JSPS, gave an opening remark, and Prof. HONJO Tasuku, Member of Council of Science and Technology Policy, Cabinet Office, Japan, gave a special lecture.
