How to apply

1. Application Procedure

Overseas students/researchers are selected under the program based on ETH Zurich’s nominations. ETH Zurich issues application calls, receives and screens applications, and makes nominations to JSPS. For details, please refer to the webpage of ETH Zurich or contact Dr. Rahel Byland, a program manager for ETH Global, by email: (rahel.bylandatsl.ethz.ch).

2. Notification of selection results

JSPS notifies the selectees via ETH Zurich and reports the selections to the host institutions.

ETH Zurich headquarters issues call for application.

February

ETH Zurich receives applications.

March

ETH Zurich screens applications.

Late April

ETH Zurich nominates applicants to JSPS.

Mat-June

JSPS inquiries to host institutions as to whether they will accept nominees.

July

JSPS notifies the selectees via ETH Zurich and reports the selections to the host institutions.

August thru 31 March of following year

Fellows arrive in Japan, start their research.

(6) Fellow, host researcher and the administrative office of the host institution do the required procedures.JSPS pays fellows' allowances.
