BIOLOGY AND DIAGNOSIS PROGRAM AREA

SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES

From April 1, 1984 to March 31, 1985, the major program activities consisted of seminars and exchange of scientists. A total of three seminars were held. One seminar was held in the "Immunology" area and emphasized the molecular mechanisms of cell-cell interactions which are involved in tumor immunity. A second meeting in the "Diagnosis" area dealt with tumor markers and the genes which encode these molecules. A third seminar was held in the "Cell Biology" area and emphasized the regulatory mechanisms of cell growth and the surface phenotypes observed in neoplastic cells.
