ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT

This report summarizes the activities for the period between 1 April 1984 and 31 March 1985. It is the first report in the series.
The Program consists of four program areas:

I. Etiology
II. Biology and Diagnosis
III. Treatment
IV. Interdisciplinary Program and Coordination

The US-Japan Bilateral Agreement calls for exchange of scientists, exchange of materials, and organization of seminars, workshops, and symposia. Detailed discussion of these activities will be reported under specific program areas. The tables compiled in this section represent overall summaries for quick review. They should be self-explanatory.
To discuss policy matters and program activities, the Joint Steering Committee of the Program meets once every year. The first meeting of the third five-year period of its operation (from April 1984 to March 1989) was held on June 27-28, 1985 in Tokyo.
