1. MAKOTO OGAWA

Dates of Visit: July 9-22, 1982

Summary of Activities
Dr. Ogawa attended the NCI Phase I meetings on July 9-22, 1982. This visit provided Dr. Ogawa with current information regarding potential new anticancer agents that are at the Phase I level of development.



2. HISASHI MAJIMA
Chiba Cancer Center
Chiba, Japan

Dates of Visit: December 1-14, 1982

Summary of Activities
Dr. Hisashi Majima visited the National Cancer Institute to attend the Phase II study meetings held December 1-14, 1982. Subsequently, Dr. Majima visited Dr. Charles Young at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and Dr. Emil Frierich at the M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. These meetings provided Dr. Majima with the opportunity to obtain information regarding a variety of clinical projects being conducted at these institutions.



3. JOEL TEPPER
Massachusetts General Hospital

Dates of Visit: September 29, 1982-0ctober 13, 1982

Summary of Activities
Dr. Joel Tepper visited Dr. M. Abe at the Kyushu Cancer Center in Fukuoka, the Chiba Cancer Center in Chiba, and the Komagome Metropolitan Hospital in Tokyo. Dr. Tepper, who is a Radiation Therapist on the staff of the Massachusetts General Hospital, was able to visit the radiation therapy facilities at these institutions in order to exchange information concerning new methodologies in this treatment area.
