EXCHANGE OF MATERIALS

Dr. Takashi Sugimura and his colleagues have continuously sent potent mutagens which were first isolated from amino acid and protein pyrolysates and also from broiled food. Samples given to the U.S. scientists are synthetic ones, including Trp-P-1, Trp-P-2, Glu-P-1, Glu-P-2, IQ, and MeIQ. More than 10 U.S. scientists received specimens. They also distributed an indole alkaloid type new potent tumor promoter, teleocidin, to the U.S. scientists. Teleocidin is as active as phorbol ester tumor promoter (TPA). Indole alkaloid was sent to more than 25 laboratories in the U.S.
