EXCHANGE OF MATERIALS

5 gm each of Glu-P-1 (2-amino-6-methyldipyrido [1,2-a: 3’,2’-d] imidazole) and Glu-P-2 (2-amino-dipyrido [1,2-a: 3”,2’-d] imidazole) were sent from Japan to the U.S. to be used by American scientists. Dr. Takeo Kakunaga, National Cancer Institute, NIH, will handle the distribution of these materials to qualified scientists. Both compounds are potent mutagens isolated from pyrolysis of glutamic acid: Arrangements are being made to share with U.S. scientists some novel deoxynucleoside triphosphate analogues synthesized by Dr. Mineo Saneyoshi for research on the mechanism of DNA replication in normal and cancer cells.
