The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and the European Science Foundation (ESF) have been carrying out the “ESF-JSPS Frontier Science Conference Series for Young Researchers” since 2003.

These conferences provide young European and Japanese researchers with opportunities to receive lectures from and engage in discussions with leading international experts in the subject field. They also allow the participants to sharpen their perception of future prospects for advances in the field, while building peer networks.
