In this advanced digital age, there is no end to demands for the finer size, higher speed, and higher density circuit integration of electronic devices. In the field of production, developers are competing in the pursuit of integration on the order of gigabits. In the area of research, diverse R&D projects are underway and research centers are being established, all with nano technology as the keyword.
In view of these circumstances, this committee aims to contribute to the advancement of next generation nano electronics by mobilizing researchers from industry, the government, and academia and encouraging their nano technology R&D endeavors to go beyond the limits of the scale rule, which is the guiding principle of conventional device development.
1. Nano electronics
---
Development of new functions for nano structures, the pushing of ultra-large scale integration to its limit, basic quantum information technology, mono-electron devices, quantum computers, photonic crystals, quantum dot lasers, terahertz devices, etc.
2. Macroscopic nano electronics
Using nano technology to dramatically improve the performance of macro devices
3. Bio/nano electronics
The creation of a new field that fuses nano and bio technology
4. Research on nano processes and nano-relevant apparatuses
5. Activities contributing to education and international exchanges
