1. What prompted you decide to participate in the "JSPS Science Dialogue" program?
I took Science Dialogue as an opportunity to experience Japanese education system at high school level. In my school time I enjoyed an opportunity to interact with a researcher, which prompted me to choose scientific research as career. I felt I am getting similar opportunity to motivate our coming generation.
2. To what did you give greatest attention in preparing and giving the lecture?
I put greater attention on my language, I keep always in mind that I have to speak very slowly and clearly, and have to express in simplest form of the language so that maximum students can get benefit from the lecture.
3. Did you find it difficult to give a lecture in English to Japanese students? Could you give some advice to future lecturers on how to facilitate communication with Japanese students?
I think I didn't felt any difficulty, and contrary to my opinion I found most of the students very interactive. I would like to suggest, speaking slowly and avoid using hard scientific language which we usually prefer in scientific community.
4. Could you give your impression with regard to participating in this program?
It had very good impression on me, It was a great experience for me. I have problem in sparing time otherwise I would definitely like to participate few times more in science dialogue.
5. Was it meaningful in terms of your fellowship activities?
In this regard our prime concern must be focused on our laboratory research but once upon time if we get any non research activity like science dialogue, we should try to spare some time for it if we can.
6. In what ways do you think the students benefited from the program?
They get motivation and interest in research activity. They can learn and know about culture and people of other countries.
7. Could you give some overall advice or comments to future participants in the program?
I would like to suggest future participate when they prepare for presentation chose the subject which is useful and understandable by high school students and avoid a hard core a scientific speech. The dialogue must be like an interactive dialogue than a lecture.
