1. What prompted you decide to participate in the "JSPS Science Dialogue" program?
I learn the existence of "JSPS Science Dialogue" program when I assist to a JSPS meeting at Tokyo. I think it is a great opportunity to meet Japanese students and, so, learn about Japanese culture.
2. To what did you give greatest attention in preparing and giving the lecture?
For the preparation, I would to make something very clear, easy to understand for students, with many figures and pictures, but also something very complete. Concerning the lecture, it was simpler. The only constraint was to use simple words and simple construction of sentences.
3. Did you find it difficult to give a lecture in English to Japanese students? Could you give some advice to future lecturers on how to facilitate communication with Japanese students?
I think it is not difficult to give a lecture in English to Japanese students, if the lecture is well prepared and adapted to students.

It was a great opportunity and a very nice experience for me. First, it is always interesting for a researcher to explain his research, in particular with future researchers. Second, it is an opportunity to learn more about Japanese culture. The students were interested and made many efforts. Concerning the organization, it was perfect.
5. Was it meaningful in terms of your fellowship activities?
For my research, it was not meaningful. But for me, it was very important. The transmission is always important.
6. In what ways do you think the students benefited from the program?
The most important benefice, I think, for students is to understand that English is very important. Next, they have a little idea about the research.
7. Could you give some overall advice or comments to future participants in the program?
Do not forget that the participants are students, not researchers.
