Comments from Dr. Zehirov

1. What prompted you decide to participate in the "JSPS Science Dialogue" program?

I accepted invitation because I was sure I would see a lot of Japanese student interested in biology and nitrogen fixation.

2. To what did you give greatest attention in preparing and giving the lecture?

I tried to choose easier but quite interesting way in expression of scientific topics in my presentation.

3. Did you find it difficult to give a lecture in English to Japanese students? Could you give some advice to future lecturers on how to facilitate communication with Japanese students?

I have not found any difficulties presenting my lecture and I hope it was understandable enough for the students.

4. Could you give your impression with regard to participating in this program?

I saw the students were enjoying a lot in doing some experiments (laboratory work) by themselves. I admire this program, which give good chance for student to touch the university work and to communicate with foreigners.

5. Was it meaningful in terms of your fellowship activities?

We were welcomed very well by Ikeda High School teachers. Organization was perfect and we were very surprised by the well equipped laboratory which we saw.

6. In what ways do you think the students benefited from the program?

I hope it was interesting for them and they understood what I was talking about. I think the program helps and motivates student to continue their education in the university.

7. Could you give some overall advice or comments to future participants in the program?

I recommend to the other participants to make more slides in their presentation and don't hesitate to participate in Dialogue program. I will recommend for other participants if it is possible to plan time for practical laboratory work.
