1. What prompted you decide to participate in the "JSPS Science Dialogue" program?
Because I get the grant from Japan, I want to do something to return Japan. In the mean time, it is a good experience for me to practice teaching in English.
2. To what did you give greatest attention in preparing and giving the lecture?
I want to send the very frontier chemical information for the young students, which will beneficial for them in the future.
3. Did you find it difficult to give a lecture in English to Japanese students? Could you give some advice to future lecturers on how to facilitate communication with Japanese students?
Yes, it will be difficult for them to understand the English lecture for their low level English and chemistry. Accompanying with a Japanese assistant, who helps translating the lecture, will be good method to solve some problem.
4. Could you give your impression with regard to participating in this program?
The teachers in the high school are very active on the dialogue, who desire that the program will encourage the students on their study.
5. Was it meaningful in terms of your fellowship activities?
Of course it is very meaningful. I'm happy I can teach others with my knowledge and experience.
6. In what ways do you think the students benefited from the program?
Firstly, they get some interesting frontier information through the dialogue, which will broad their knowledge and encourage them to learn the relative subject much well. Secondly, it will be good chance for them to practice their oral English and English hearing ability.
7. Could you give some overall advice or comments to future participants in the program?
Try to send some interesting frontier information, which is near to, or connected with the common living.
