Commnets from Dr. Kimberg

1.  What prompted you decide to participate in the "JSPS Science Dialogue" program?

I was interesting to communicate with Japanese students which are oriented on doing science in future.

2.  To what did you give greatest attention in preparing and giving the lecture?

Most important think I was concentrated during lecture preparing was the level of understanding ? I tried to make the lecture as much easy as possible, that even people without education in physics can follow the basic ideas.

3.  Did you find it difficult to give a lecture in English to Japanese students? Could you give some advice to future lecturers on how to facilitate communication with Japanese students?

I did not find. My advice is to use more dynamical thinks in presentation to attract student's attention, like moves etc. Some practical exercises can be benefit.

4.  Could you give your impression with regard to participating in this program?

It is positive impression.

5.  Was it meaningful in terms of your fellowship activities?

Yes.

6.  In what ways do you think the students benefited from the program?

In my opinion, the most benefit is communication with foreign researchers, which allow students to get inspiration in doing science, language skills and basic mental outlook.

7.  Could you give some overall advice or comments to future participants in the program?

It is very good to check the student handbook in science before you start to prepare the lecture. It is very helpful when you aware a basic knowledge of the student, so you may skip some unnecessary explanation and concentrate more on the things which unknown by the students.
