1. What prompted you decide to participate in the "JSPS Science Dialogue" program?
I thought it could be a best opportunity for me to interact and understand the scientific interest of the budding young generation of Japan through the JSPS Science Dialogue.
2. To what did you give greatest attention in preparing and giving the lecture?
I tried to prepare the lecture as per the level of the High School student. I thought, it should be simple, understandable, informative and inspiring.
3. Did you find it difficult to give a lecture in English to Japanese students? Could you give some advice to future lecturers on how to facilitate communication with Japanese students?
Infact I did, although they know little English that would not be enough to understand the theme of the lecture in a practical sense. I think it is better to make lecture in English and subsequent translation is Japanese. Our objective here would be to communicate the information through the easiest possible way so that the student would understand without any difficulty.
4. Could you give your impression with regard to participating in this program?
This program is an excellent exercise to widen the horizon of the young generation on interdisciplinary or trandisciplinary subjects as well as an opportunity for the foreign scholars to interact and learn from Japanese students.
5. Was it meaningful in terms of your fellowship activities?
The output of the research and contribution to the region where the research is being carried out is very important for me. At the same time, research output should also contribute to the host country I think is equally meaningful and important for building up good relation between the countries or the institutions.
6. In what ways do you think the students benefited from the program?
Students showed excitements and interacted very much by asking a lot of intelligent questions. This clearly shows the inherent inquisitiveness of the young diligent minds for a quest of newer scientific temperament. They could understand more to plan their carrier for future.
7. Could you give some overall advice or comments to future participants in the program?
I advise the future participants to prepare the presentations seriously as to what they want to communicate and what massage would be understood by the receiving end. It should be simple and easy to understand.
