1. What prompted you decide to participate in the "JSPS Science Dialogue" program?
To tell you the truth, JSPS cares so much about their fellows that on the very first occasion where my contribution could be useful for JSPS, I agreed with a great honor. I could not realize then that this process would be so full with pleasant things.
2. To what did you give greatest attention in preparing and giving the lecture?
Most of all I tried the lecture to be interesting and understandable for the listeners.
3. Did you find it difficult to give a lecture in English to Japanese students? Could you give some advice to future lecturers on how to facilitate communication with Japanese students?
Yes, I was warned about this difficulty by the students’ English teacher. Therefore I sent the text of my lecture to students beforehand. In addition, I was trying to afford with subtitles all the pictures I have shown during my lecture.
4. Could you give your impression with regard to participating in this program?
It was enjoyable and responsible.
5. Was it meaningful in terms of your fellowship activities?
Obviously, more people learned about my country and somehow I have summarized my scientific activity.
6. In what ways do you think the students benefited from the program?
I hope their viewpoint has been enriched by sharing my experience.
7. Could you give some overall advice or comments to future participants in the program?
I can just encourage them.
