1. What prompted you decide to participate in the "JSPS Science Dialogue" program?
I found it a rare opportunity offered by the JSPS and so I readily decided to participate in the program.
2. To what did you give greatest attention in preparing and giving the lecture?
I wanted to make my lecture as simple as possible and used Visual aids. I found that the students were interested in the history of my country so I paid more attention to it
3. Did you find it difficult to give a lecture in English to Japanese students? Could you give some advice to future lecturers on how to facilitate communication with Japanese students?
My host researcher translated the content to the students which was very helpful for me to communicate with the students. I find that the same would be suggested for the future lecturers too.
4. Could you give your impression with regard to participating in this program?
I found it a wonderful opportunity to interact with the Japanese high school students. It was a delightful experience.
5. Was it meaningful in terms of your fellowship activities?
Though the topic of my lecture was different from that of my research, this program was meaningful to some extent.
6. In what ways do you think the students benefited from the program?
The students get an opportunity to communicate with the foreign researchers. I think interactions like this will provoke their interest in research. Moreover, by interacting with the foreign researchers the students gain more knowledge about a foreign country and its culture.
7. Could you give some overall advice or comments to future participants in the program?
I suggest the future participants to present a simple lecture and induce the students' interest by using more visual aids. As a part of their lecture, they can also include their country's culture and history as the students are more interested in it.
