How to Apply

flow

When applying to participate

Please fill out the Application Form and contact JSPS by fax or email.
JSPS accepts the form in the terms below:

  1. Two months prior to the lecture: for the lecture from April to August 2013.
  2. 22-28 May 2013: for the lecture from September to December 2013.
  3. 4-10 September 2013: for the lecture from January to March 2014.

Upon application acceptance

JSPS gives the teacher the Fellow's contact information. Planning for the lecture session is carried out directly with the Fellow.

As the students' English proficiency is apt to be weak, it is important to do the following things in advance.

  • Decide upon the content of the lecture (e.g., describing the Fellow's own research, telling why s/he decided to become a researcher, introducing his/her home country)
  • Ascertain the students' level of English proficiency
  • Ascertain the students' level of technical knowledge regarding the subject
  • Prepare an abstract and a list of key words for the students to study in advance of the lecture
  • Decide whether the Fellow accompanies his/her colleague for explaining the point of lecture

After the lecture is completed

After the lecture is completed, please fill out the activity report and questionnaire and submit them to JSPS within 10 days after the lecture.

* Please note that the documents will be posted on the JSPS website. The content of the questionnaire will be used for project improvement and publicity, but it will not be disclosed in a way that names of schools and individuals can be identified.
