This website provides information on the program “Dispatch of Science and Technology Researchers,” operated by MoFA, MEXT, JICA and JSPS. The purpose of program is to initiate joint research that addresses global issues.

This program was launched in 2008, JSPS’s role in it is to match the needs of researchers in Japan and developing countries so act to strategically dispatch Japanese researchers to conduct joint research.

The Japanese researchers are dispatched as JICA experts. Counterpart countries and institutions are required to take necessary measures to implement the joint research activities, including covering some expenses not provided for under JICA's regulations.
