Project to Commemorate the 110th Anniversary of the Nobel Prize

This year marks the 110th anniversary of the Nobel Prize. To commemorate it, the Nobel Museum in Sweden is putting on a global traveling exhibition, titled “Alfred Nobel—Networks of Innovation,” which is scheduled to come to Japan. The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and the National Museum of Nature and Science will team up with the Nobel Museum in carrying out the subject Project to Commemorate the 110th Anniversary of the Nobel Prize. It will prepare a platform for receiving the Nobel Museum’s traveling exhibition in Japan and will hold an exhibit of the achievements of the Japanese Nobel laureates in conjunction with the traveling exhibition. The exhibition, being held from November 1, 2011 to January 22, 2012, at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno, Tokyo, is meant to widely convey the significance of science and technology.

The project finished in January 2012. We had a very large number of visitors come to the exhibition held at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno, Tokyo, from November 1, 2011 to January 22, 2012, for which we would like to express our gratitude.
