Mr. Bung-Hwan HO and Mr. Kyeong Su JANG of KOSEF visited JSPS on July 28, 2004. Mr. Ho is director of KOSEF's International Program Division, and Mr. Jang is head of KOSEF's Tokyo Office.

Mr. Ho came to Japan to attend the opening ceremony of the third Advanced Science Institute held from July 26-31 in Zao, Miyagi Prefecture. Organized by JSPS and Tohoku University, the seminar was tailored for promising young researchers in the East-Pacific region.

Mr. Ho began the day with a courtesy call on JSPS executive director Mr. Isao Kiso, who had just assumed the post on July 1. After the visit, Ms. Yuko Furukawa, director of JSPS's International Program Department, and Mr. Hiromichi Endo, head of the Asian Program Division, met with the delegation and discussed future collaborative frameworks between the two countries.
