Flexible International Exchanges: Researchers sent to "Japan-Taiwan CMOS MEMS Workshop 2009"
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science sent six researchers to the "Japan-Taiwan CMOS MEMS Workshop 2009" with funding support from the Strategic Program for Building an Asian Science and Technology Community (Flexible International Exchanges) of the Special Coordination Funds for Promoting Science and Technology. They stayed in Taiwan from 22-24 March 2008.
At the Workshop, the Japanese and Taiwan participants shared information and views on the latest advances made in micro-electro mechanical system (MEMS) layered on complementary metal semiconductors (CMOS) through collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors.
They also discussed the forming of a collaborative research network between universities and research institutes in Taiwan to trial manufacture a CMOS MEMS foundry and develop integrated system design and analysis software for MEMS and electronic circuits.
