"Northeastern Asian Symposium 2006: Climate Change and Carbon Cycle" Held

"Northeastern Asian Symposium 2006: Climate Change and Carbon Cycle," organized by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Korean Science and Engineering Foundation (KOSEF), was held in Kitakyushu, Japan, on 6 to 9 November, 2006. The aim of the symposium was to build strong scientific network in the field of climate change among Japan, China and Korea. 48 distinguished researchers and young scientists from three countries gave presentation and had discussions on the current research topics and common challenges for the researchers in the three countries. Based on the results of the symposium, A3 Foresight Program , which is joint research program organized by JSPS, NSFC and KOSEF, will be implemented in FY2007.
