Joint Research Projects and Seminars Special collaborative activities are implemented with China, India and Korea, which are considered to have particularly close relations with Japan. Japan-China Scientific Cooperation Program In 1996, JSPS concluded an MoU with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), under which support is provided for joint research projects and scientific seminars organized by Japanese and Chinese researchers. These activities, implemented upon research plans devised in advance by the cooperating researchers, are aimed at producing scientific results.
The Japan-India Cooperative Science Program This program was launched based on a recommendation by the Japan-India Science Council, comprising leading Japanese and Indian scientists. It is a cooperative program carried out between JSPS and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Aimed at producing scientific results, the program supports joint research and seminars between researchers of the two countries.

Japan-Korea Basic Scientific Cooperation Program Under this program, JSPS and the Korea Science and
Engineering Foundation (KOSEF) support joint research and seminars carried
out between Japanese and Korean researchers. These activities, implemented
upon research plans devised in advance by the cooperating researchers,
are aimed at producing scientific results.
