About Us

JSPS’s budget for the 2015 fiscal year totals ¥305.3 billion. This amount is divided into direct funding of ¥259.5 billion and indirect funding of ¥45.8 billion. The indirect funds are provided in MEXT’s budget for program selection and assessment functions performed by JSPS.

The chart below gives a breakdown of the main items of the budget, which is 99.8% subsidized by the Japanese government.
